I am so smrt, I mean smart!

OK, so I have been really busy.

Last weeks was finals week and let me tell you, I passed with flying colors. In fact, I followed in the footsteps of my mom and was top of my class.

We all went to class the same as other days, but I had no idea what the final was going to be. Not only did they spring a lot of surprises on me, they made the test two parts!

The first part is they put all of these treats and toys all over the room. Then to make it extra difficult they set a new dog at the end of the room, but it wasn't just any dog. His name was Jagermiester and he was huge, they kept saying that he was a Great Dane. The big ones both took me around in the circle.

I was not really interested in the toys, they smelled like other dogs. I acted like the treats did not effect me...but I really wanted to eat them. Last was the big dog. Ohh, he was just asking to be barked at, so I let him have it. The second time we went around we were on better terms, he let me sniff him and everything was cool.

The second part of the test was having another person giving me commands. I was more interested in what my big ones were doing so I was not listening. Then they started ignoring me, how rude. I then was all ears for Sunny's mom and was sitting and laying down and playing touch.

I was really tired but finally I got my diploma and made the very special walk.

Jack is Back!

I've been gone for a long time and I wish I could say I'd been on a big puppy adventure but alas, my days have been spent alone, in my room, with only monkey and alligator to keep me company.
You see, Mom started school about 3 weeks ago and my life since then has been very different. No more hanging out during the day. No more walks in the nice sunshine. No more eating whenever I want. Now it's me and my room. All day. And I can only eat in the morning and when Mom comes home! They left me water twice but I used it as a swimming pool for monkey and alligator. I thought it was a GREAT idea, and monkey and alligator had fun, but Mom was not amused, so now Dad doesn't fill the bowl in the morning. Hmph. No more swimming pool. If only I could figure out those knobs in that thing where they give me my bath.....
I do, however, manage to get their towels down every day, even when they hang them REALLY high. Black poodles can jump :)
Anyways, let me get to what's really bothering me before they come and lock me up again. What is up with this people school thing? I go to puppy class once a week, and from what I hear this week is the last one. I know I needed to learn how to sit and stay and leave things like chicken bones on the ground. But my Mom does all of that already, so why on earth does she go to school all day everyday? From what I see, she doesn't have any new tricks. She just comes home her same old self, only I have to spend my days in the bathroom. Unless somebody can explain this to me, I'm going to organize a boycott of people school because I want my Mom back! No more bathroom for Jack! No more prison for monkey and alligator!

You can call me Jackie-Son

Sometimes I don't know what to say about the big ones. I am sitting around minding my own business and poof! There is a piece of raw fish in front of me.

Now I know what you are thinking, eat the sushi it is good for you, but raw fish, ick!

But I am a very brave dog so I played with it, took the seaweed and rice off of the fish and rolled it around for a little while. Put it in my mouth and hid it under the table.

The big ones were all interested in this and kept flashing the light in my face, you know what I did to them, I turned to them and said, "HEY, I am trying to eat here."

Finally I was given some peace and quiet and sat down and took in the full flavor the salmon. The consistency and overall flavor were actually pretty good.

Now I don't know where all this leads but once the funny hats start coming around I may just have to get out of here.

Shiny, Pearly Whites

I lost a tooth today! It was my first one ever!! It fell out while dad and I were playing. He went and showed mom, who was all worried that I was hurt. She picked me up and tried to look in my mouth. NO WAY was I going to show either one of them where that tooth came from! They were going to have to give up a treat, maybe even two, for that privilege. No-sir-ee. My jaws stayed shut.
They kept oohing and aahing like they always do when it comes to me. Then dad got the bright idea to wash my tooth off in the sink because there was a little bit of blood on it.
Humans.
What do you THINK happened next? (Let me tell you, this is the same day dad dropped eggs at the grocery store AND my good food, the kind mom makes, all over the floor). HE DROPPED MY FIRST TOOTH DOWN THE SINK!
My memories, baby dna, all kinds of potential oohing and aahing, calcium, maybe even some future cavities, and whatever else is in teeth...all gone :( He tried to get it. Even took the top off of the sink with a screwdriver, but no luck. Only found little bits of food.
Good thing I have a whole mouth full of baby teeth and they're all going to fall out.
Maybe next time they'll be more careful.
Hmph.
Humans.

Hair Cut!

On Sunday I got my hair cut! I was WAY better for this lady than I was for my Grandma when she cut my hair in Nebraska. I was little then, plus this time I was at school, and I wouldn't want all the girls there to think I was scared!

Mom and Dad kept saying, "Oh, Jack! You look so good!" I mean, I know I look good, but all of that oohing and aahing, come on guys, it's a little embarrassing. Especially when we're at school. Geesh. I was pretty excited to see them though. They left me at school for a long time!

When we got home they took TONS of pictures and wouldn't stop talking about how skinny I was. When I was little Mom always said I couldn't have too many treats because she didn't want me to get fat! Make up your mind!

Anyways...here are the pictures.

I must say, I'm one good lookin' dog.

Bon Appetit!

Most of you have heard by now, but for those of you that haven't, I have some great news. My Big Ones can cook! I'm sure you all have heard about the pet food recalls, and you know how my mom is with nutrition. Rumor is they spent FOREVER at PetCo picking out my food before they brought me here and I liked it for a while. It had papaya, banana, apple, and carrot pieces in it, plus it was all natural (or something like that)...and no fillers, whatever that means. But after a while, eating the same thing, day after day, got boring, so I did what any dog would do and I said no more of this! I figured if I stopped eating, got real skinny, and laid next to mom so she could feel my ribs, eventually I would get some better food. The plan worked, but not before I got REALLY tired. Too tired to play like I normally did, go on walks like I normally did, or be my normal 'Jack'. There were some days I didn't eat even 1/4 of a cup of food....boy, did the Big Ones get worried! Mom did lots of research and decided to start making some homemade food. She bought some holistic dog book and started cooking away. Now come 6:00 every night, I have got to be the happiest dog in New York City! The food the Big Ones make is GREAT (minus the green beans, they're gross, so I spit them out.) They mix it with my regular dog food, so sometimes, just to make them happy, I eat it too because Mom says it's good for me. Hmph. Check out the pictures of me eating! (And for some reason, they think it's funny that I spit out the green beans and they take pictures of that, too. I make sure to spit them ALL over the kitchen so they make sure to not put them in next time. Eew.)

Jack and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

So today I did a bad thing.
I chewed up Mommy's computer cord.
She was mad.
Very mad.
So mad I couldn't even sit by her on the couch.
So mad she yelled at Daddy on the phone even though he didn't chew up the computer cord.
She spent all day running all over 'the city' trying to find a new cord, and when she finally did, the one she got didn't work. Boy, she was really mad then.
When Daddy got home, I was SOOO excited to see somebody that wasn't mad at me. But then Mommy told him not to pay attention to me either :(
On our walk I caught a pigeon by it's wing. Mommy said no to this too. She told me I needed to go visit Grandma. At this point, I think a visit to BOTH Grandmas would be a good idea.
Maybe then Mommy would forget about the cord, and the pigeon, and the poop I left on the floor.
I really woke up on the wrong side of the gate today.....
Now what should I pack? I'll need my pillow, my blankie, my red dog, the alligator, the mouse, the good food Mommy makes, my treats, my chewies....hhhmmm....that should do it. Look out Grandmas! Here I come!
