Hair Cut!

On Sunday I got my hair cut! I was WAY better for this lady than I was for my Grandma when she cut my hair in Nebraska. I was little then, plus this time I was at school, and I wouldn't want all the girls there to think I was scared!

Mom and Dad kept saying, "Oh, Jack! You look so good!" I mean, I know I look good, but all of that oohing and aahing, come on guys, it's a little embarrassing. Especially when we're at school. Geesh. I was pretty excited to see them though. They left me at school for a long time!

When we got home they took TONS of pictures and wouldn't stop talking about how skinny I was. When I was little Mom always said I couldn't have too many treats because she didn't want me to get fat! Make up your mind!

Anyways...here are the pictures.

I must say, I'm one good lookin' dog.

Bon Appetit!

Most of you have heard by now, but for those of you that haven't, I have some great news. My Big Ones can cook! I'm sure you all have heard about the pet food recalls, and you know how my mom is with nutrition. Rumor is they spent FOREVER at PetCo picking out my food before they brought me here and I liked it for a while. It had papaya, banana, apple, and carrot pieces in it, plus it was all natural (or something like that)...and no fillers, whatever that means. But after a while, eating the same thing, day after day, got boring, so I did what any dog would do and I said no more of this! I figured if I stopped eating, got real skinny, and laid next to mom so she could feel my ribs, eventually I would get some better food. The plan worked, but not before I got REALLY tired. Too tired to play like I normally did, go on walks like I normally did, or be my normal 'Jack'. There were some days I didn't eat even 1/4 of a cup of food....boy, did the Big Ones get worried! Mom did lots of research and decided to start making some homemade food. She bought some holistic dog book and started cooking away. Now come 6:00 every night, I have got to be the happiest dog in New York City! The food the Big Ones make is GREAT (minus the green beans, they're gross, so I spit them out.) They mix it with my regular dog food, so sometimes, just to make them happy, I eat it too because Mom says it's good for me. Hmph. Check out the pictures of me eating! (And for some reason, they think it's funny that I spit out the green beans and they take pictures of that, too. I make sure to spit them ALL over the kitchen so they make sure to not put them in next time. Eew.)

Jack and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

So today I did a bad thing.
I chewed up Mommy's computer cord.
She was mad.
Very mad.
So mad I couldn't even sit by her on the couch.
So mad she yelled at Daddy on the phone even though he didn't chew up the computer cord.
She spent all day running all over 'the city' trying to find a new cord, and when she finally did, the one she got didn't work. Boy, she was really mad then.
When Daddy got home, I was SOOO excited to see somebody that wasn't mad at me. But then Mommy told him not to pay attention to me either :(
On our walk I caught a pigeon by it's wing. Mommy said no to this too. She told me I needed to go visit Grandma. At this point, I think a visit to BOTH Grandmas would be a good idea.
Maybe then Mommy would forget about the cord, and the pigeon, and the poop I left on the floor.
I really woke up on the wrong side of the gate today.....
Now what should I pack? I'll need my pillow, my blankie, my red dog, the alligator, the mouse, the good food Mommy makes, my treats, my chewies....hhhmmm....that should do it. Look out Grandmas! Here I come!

My first day in school

The big ones thought it would be a good idea if I would go to Puppy Kindergarten to learn how to be a good dog, what they don't know is that I am a bad dog by choice, hehe.

So last Sunday they got me all bathed and brushed and we set out for the trains. Of course the trains on the weekend were late so we waited and waited and no train came. I was in my bag so it was no big deal for me, I was already relaxing. Finally, one came and we went down to school.

When we got off the train I started getting excited. I have never been to school before and I started wondering, "What if all the other dogs don't like me?", "What if I can't seem to handle the fundamentals of good sitting?", and "Just what in the heck do they mean when they say 'No'".

We got there and class had not started yet. My teacher's name is Ricki and she is very nice. That day there was only one other dog there and her name is Sunnie. We got extra attention because we were the only one's there, I heard there is going to be a bulldog there next week.

This week we learned what to do when the big one's say, "Jack." Now they say it all the time and won't let me relax. Everytime I turn around it is, "Jack this", and "Jack that". Phew, it gets pretty tiring.

Well I got to go back to my new toys, hopefully the big ones will be quiet and stop looking at me and saying, "Sit".

Pleading the 5th

Guess what?! That roll of stuff in the bathroom is full of soft, chewy cloth, just like the kind I find in the garbage!

Today when the Big Ones were gone I got it unrolled and chewed it in to little bits then used it to decorate my room! I had a great time! Unfortuneatly, the Mom Big One didn't think it was such a great decoration. (She's so picky. She doesn't like Dad's pictures of Elvis or Frank Sinatra either. She made him put them in the closet. Who put her in charge anyway?) She told me NO, then piled all the pieces in a stack on the black pillow and took a picture of it and said, "Wait until Daddy sees this." Hmph.

I plead the 5th.

She can't prove anything.

And besides - I had sooooooo much fun!!!

New Toy!

I don't really like it when The Big Ones leave, but lately they've been bringing back toys! Check out this one they found to replace my monkey that I hid and then forgot to find...it's just like the PetSmart commercial!

About Me

My name is Jackson Quincy Gronquist-Blodgett. You can call me Jack. I live in New York City with my mom and dad. You can call them 'The Big Ones'. We just moved into our new apartment where I get my own room! It has lots of running water, a tile floor, and paper on a roll that I'm not allowed to play with.

I moved to New York 2 months ago. Before that I lived in a place with lots of grass and dogs to play with. Their names were Rocky, Jazzy, and Zoey. One day 'The Big Ones' came and put me in a bag and took me to another place with lots of grass and another dog to play with named Mylo. Mylo doesn't like to play, so they put me in a bag AGAIN and brought me to a place where I thought I would never see grass again!

Life in New York is full of walks, people, and trees that grow in the middle of the sidewalk. It's pretty great, really, until The Big Ones leave me alone. I tried crying, howling, and scratching at the door, so they bought me a baby gate and let me run around the kitchen. I learned to jump over it in 10 minutes, leaving my food, toys, and pillow on the other side. That's when I got my own room. I figured my own room wasn't that bad, so I stopped the howling and crying and now I'm usually good when The Big Ones leave....I also learned how to surf the internet and post my own blog, so now every so often you'll get to hear about our adventures and see pictures of a day in the life of me, a toy poodle named Jack.
